1 Hydroxy Ethylidene-1, 1 Diphosphonic Acid (HEDP) is a water treatment chemical which is effective to act against scaling. Commonly referred as editronic acid, this chemical is an organic phosphoric acid by composition. As part of its de-scaling activities, this water treatment chemical reacts with metal ions present in water system in order to produce chelating complex compound that has hexa element based structure. Scaling inhibiting attributes of this chemical can be noticed under 250 degree C operating temperature. Synergistic attributes of this chemical can be noticed in presence of other water treatment chemicals.
